Set up your first Minecraft server (Bedrock)

Set up your first Minecraft server (Bedrock)

Applies to: Minecraft Bedrock Edition · All plans

Use the Syrup dashboard to get your Bedrock Minecraft server up and running.

Before you begin

  • Java and Bedrock are not cross-compatible unless you’ve installed Geyser. Take note of which edition you’re running.
  • Bedrock servers use a different port than Java (default: 19132 UDP instead of 25565 TCP).
  • Bedrock Edition includes Minecraft on Windows 10/11, mobile (iOS/Android), consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch), and the Bedrock version on PC.

Sign in to your Syrup dashboard

  1. In your browser, go to https://dashboard.syruphosting.ca/login.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Click Sign in.

You’ll see your server listed on the My Servers page.

Start your server

  1. On the My Servers page, click Manage on your server.
  2. On the Console page, click Start.
  3. Watch the console output. When you see Done! For help, type “help”, your server is ready.

On the My Servers page, the server status is changed to Online.

Find your server IP and port

  1. On the My Servers page, click Manage on your server.
  2. Go to System > Server Details.
  3. In the Server Info section, find your server IP. Your IP address looks like this: 123.45.67.89:19132.
  4. Take note of your IP address and port. The default Bedrock port is 19132.

The numbers before the colon are your IP address. The number after the colon is your port.

Join your server

On mobile (iOS/Android):

  1. Open Minecraft and tap Play > Servers > Add Server.
  2. Enter your server’s IP address and port.
  3. Tap Save, then tap your server to join.

On Windows 10/11:

  1. Open Minecraft and click Play > Servers > Add Server.
  2. Enter your server address and port.
  3. Click Save and join.

On console (Xbox/PlayStation/Nintendo Switch):

Consoles can’t add custom servers directly in vanilla Bedrock without a workaround, like DNS redirect or third-party tools like BedrockConnect.

Check if it worked

If it worked, you’ll see your gamertag appear in the console output.
