The console lets you run Minecraft server commands directly, without being in-game. It’s the fastest way to manage players, diagnose problems, and make quick changes.
Access your server console
To access your server console, sign in to your Syrup dashboard and select your server. The console is the first page that’s displayed. Or, select Console from the navigation menu.
You’ll see a live feed of server log output and a text input at the bottom. You can open the console in a popup window by clicking the Open console popup icon.
Run a command
Type a command in the input box and press Enter. You don’t need to prefix commands with / in the console (e.g. type op <player>, not /op <player>).
Essential commands
For a full list of commands available on your server, run help in the console.
| Command | What it does |

| op <player> | Gives a player operator (admin) privileges |
| deop <player> | Removes operator privileges |
| kick <player> [reason] | Kicks a player from the server |
| ban <player> [reason] | Bans a player by username |
| whitelist add <player> | Adds a player to the whitelist |
| whitelist on / whitelist off | Enables or disables the whitelist |

Read the logs
The console shows everything your server is doing. Key things to look for:
- [INFO]: Normal server activity
- [WARN]: Something unexpected but not fatal
- [ERROR]: Something went wrong; look at the message for details
- [<player> joined the game]: Player activity
- A sudden stop with no Stopping server message usually means a crash. Scroll up for the error.
