Our Story
We’ve been playing on Minecraft servers for years. Used pretty much every
host out there.
They were all American. Data in Dallas or LA. Support in different timezones. Canadian players dealing with garbage ping. Community data under US jurisdiction.
Nobody was making a good Canadian option. So we did.
When the conversation around Canadian sovereignty started getting loud, Tye went looking for a Canadian Minecraft host to move his server to. There weren’t any. Not a single one worth using.
That gap became Syrup Hosting. Two brothers, built from scratch — self-taught on everything from network administration to Linux. We soft-launched in 2025 with one goal: give Canadian players a host that actually respects them. Canadian infrastructure, Canadian data sovereignty, and service that doesn’t make you feel like an afterthought.

The people behind the ping.
Tye is the co-founder of Syrup and the person keeping everything running — infrastructure, support, marketing, and whatever else needs doing that day.
Before Syrup Hosting, he spent his career as a graphic designer and art director. He’s always been a gamer, and when he went looking for a Canadian Minecraft host and came up empty, he did what any reasonable person would do: taught himself network administration and Linux and built one with his brother.
He’s based in Toronto, and he built this for Canadian players who deserve better.
